Orchard is a one-of-a-kind and family-owned garden center known in the Bay Area for a wide selection of quality plants, in addition to our large houseplant offerings and beautiful gift shop. You'll be the heart and backbone of our main store which includes the cashier staff, the Atrium (houseplants!) and, seasonally, our Holiday Shop (think 40+ decorated Christmas trees). This role exists to create and sustain a well-run, energized, and supportive store environment by leading from the floor, developing people, and ensuring an exceptional experience for both customers and team members.

Schedule Full-time:

9-5:30, Thursday-Monday (Tuesdays and Wednesdays off) Job Responsibilities Leads Cashier and Atrium Team Meeting every morning Participates daily in all customer service and sales functions in all areas of the Store, leading by example: cashiering, answering phones, keeping the store clean, etc. Gives regular feedback, coaching, mentoring and training for all Atrium, Cashier, and Holiday Shop team members and strives to lead in a way that allows everyone to offer their best work every day Holds Store team members accountable to their job descriptions, including performance conversations and disciplinary actions. Partners with Creative Director to understand the vision and merchandising standards for the store in all seasons and leads the store teams to uphold said standards and vision Partners with Hiring Manager in the hiring of all cashiers, Atrium and Holiday Shop team members Job Qualifications Is proactive and a self-starter Is an effective communicator and utilizes a coaching and mentoring style while training and supporting others Growth-oriented and receptive to constructive feedback Detail oriented and problem solver Must be able to work weekends 2 years of relevant work experience Physical Requirements Able and willing to stand, twist, bend, and squat repeatedly over 8 hour work shift Able and willing to lift up to 20 pounds Able and willing to work indoors and outdoors, rain or shine (and heat and cold)
