Job Description
Job Summary About the Role Homewise Appliance is a second-generation, family-owned leader in the luxury home appliance market. With a 44-year legacy of excellence, we are seeking a high-caliber Showroom Sales Manager to lead our flagship San Jose location. This is not a desk job. We are looking for a dynamic leader who can pivot between managing a high-volume, unionized sales floor and developing sophisticated relationships with the Bay Area's top architects, designers, and contractors. You will be responsible for reversing market trends and driving growth across a diverse product portfolio — from essential premium laundry and kitchen units to ultra-luxury kitchen suites. Sales Floor Leadership & Ups Board Management This role demands constant, active presence on the floor — not management from a distance. The Showroom Sales Manager owns the guest experience from the moment a customer enters the door. Running the Ups Board Own the real-time management of the Sales Up rotation board to ensure every walk-in and phone inquiry is assigned, greeted, and qualified without delay. Monitor rotation fairness and adjust assignments based on salesperson availability, expertise, and current workload. Ensure no lead goes unacknowledged — track Up status (active, follow-up pending, closed) throughout each shift. Identify and address gaps in coverage during peak traffic windows, stepping in personally to greet guests when the floor is stretched. Review Up board data weekly to identify patterns in missed opportunities, slow response times, or uneven distribution. Sales Tracking & Performance Monitoring The Showroom Sales Manager is the primary owner of all sales data integrity and pipeline visibility. Accurate, real-time tracking is non-negotiable. Daily & Weekly Sales Tracking Monitor individual and storewide closing rates on a daily basis using NetSuite dashboards; flag performance dips same-day. Track all inbound and outbound leads through the CRM pipeline, ensuring every customer interaction is logged within 24 hours. Audit call quality and lead follow-through weekly using Ring Central, identifying coaching opportunities and accountability gaps. Ensure 100% of high-value quotes ($20,000+) receive documented follow-up within 48 hours — zero exceptions. Maintain the lead-to-quote pipeline report, presenting it at each weekly team meeting with actionable takeaways. Sales Review Cadence Conduct structured one-on-one sales reviews with each salesperson on a weekly basis, covering: closing rate vs. target, Up board engagement, lead follow-up compliance, average ticket size, and quote-to-close conversion. Hold a storewide sales review meeting each week to present team metrics, celebrate wins, address trends, and set the coming week's focus. Maintain a performance log for each sales consultant to support coaching, recognition, and corrective action documentation. Use monthly data to identify top performers for recognition and underperformers for targeted development plans. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Success in this role is measured by the following metrics, reviewed weekly and monthly with the Store Manager. Additional Metrics may arise and be added. Represent Homewise at local design industry events and trade shows as needed. Operational Excellence & Labor Relations Build and manage floor schedules aligned to peak traffic periods while maintaining strict compliance with labor guidelines. Serve as the liaison between the sales floor, Distribution Center, and DispatchTrack to ensure flagship-level delivery coordination. Navigate daily challenges within a unionized workforce with professionalism, consistency, and fairness. Provide ongoing technical product training to ensure the team can articulate luxury specifications with confidence. Qualifications Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding closing rate and revenue targets in a commissioned sales environment. Experience managing and coaching a commissioned sales team; unionized environment experience strongly preferred. Advanced proficiency in NetSuite ERP and CRM workflow management for pipeline tracking and reporting. Familiarity with RingCentral or equivalent call quality auditing tools is a plus.
