Thrift Store Worker Position Summary Thrift Store Workers support day-to-day store operations by sorting and pricing donations, stocking and organizing merchandise, assisting customers, operating the register, and maintaining a clean, welcoming shopping environment. This role requires dependable attendance, strong customer service, and attention to detail. Receive donations and follow safety and store guidelines for intake. Sort, tag, and price items based on condition, brand, and store pricing standards. Stock shelves and racks; rotate merchandise and maintain appealing displays. Keep sales floor, fitting rooms, and backroom areas organized and clean. Operate point-of-sale (POS) system: ring sales, handle cash/card transactions, issue receipts, and process returns/exchanges per policy. Identify damaged, unsafe, or restricted items and route them appropriately. Support loss prevention by monitoring the floor and following cash-handling procedures. Assist with opening/closing tasks, including straightening, counting registers (if assigned), and securing merchandise. Work as part of a team to meet daily goals and maintain a positive work environment. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred (not required for all locations). Customer service, retail, or cashier experience preferred. Basic math skills and ability to follow cash-handling procedures. Ability to work efficiently, stay organized, and pay attention to detail when sorting/pricing. Strong communication skills and a respectful, team-oriented attitude. Ability to follow safety rules and store policies. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, and lift/move items; up to 25-50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation (varies by store). Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Ability to use hands for tagging, sorting, folding, and cashiering tasks. Hours 1st shift: 8am5pm (full-time); must be available to work Saturdays Compensation $11.00/hour starting pay PSI Benefits & Perks Include Weekly pay - every Friday! Pay Card & Direct Deposit.
