Produce Clerk (Fruit Cutter) Cutting Edge Fruit Yuma, AZ Job Details Part-time | Full-time | Contract $15.50 - $20.00 an hour 16 hours ago Benefits Paid training Flexible schedule Qualifications Bilingual Packing Basic math Produce Attention to detail Food preparation Order fulfillment Full Job Description Job Overview The Cut Fruit Produce Clerk is responsible for efficiently preparing, packaging, and displaying a variety of fresh cut fruits and other prepared produce items for sale within the store. This role involves ensuring that all prepared produce items meet quality and safety standards, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the cutting area. Duties Prepare and cut a variety of fruits such as melons, pineapples, strawberries, and oranges according to established guidelines and safety procedures. Package cut fruits in containers or trays, ensuring proper labeling and pricing. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the cutting area, including regularly cleaning equipment, surfaces, and utensils. Monitor inventory levels of cut fruits and communicate with management to ensure adequate supply. Rotate stock and remove any expired or damaged products from display. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the freshness and quality of all cut fruit products. Collaborate with other departments, such as produce and bakery, to coordinate displays and promotions. Operate cutting equipment and other tools safely and efficiently, following manufacturer instructions. May perform other duties as assigned or required. Qualifications Be at least 18 years of age Bilingual required/preferred Produce retail background preferred but not required Some knowledge of different types of fruits, there seasonality, and proper handling techniques or be willing to learn. Ability to work independently and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy loads and stand for extended periods. Basic math skills for weighing and pricing products accurately. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
