Duties Supervise daily grocery department activities, including stocking, merchandising, and maintaining product displays to attract customers and maximize sales Manage inventory levels through accurate inventory management practices, utilizing RF scanners and warehouse experience to track stock movement and prevent shortages or overstocking Lead shipping and receiving operations by loading and unloading deliveries using pallet jacks, forklifts (if certified), and other equipment, ensuring timely replenishment of shelves Oversee produce handling, packaging, and quality control to ensure fresh, high-quality items are available for customers Assist with cashiering duties when needed, providing excellent customer service and addressing inquiries with clear communication skills Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grocery area, including regular cleaning routines and equipment maintenance to uphold safety standards Support training of team members in retail math, stocking procedures, merchandising techniques, and safety protocols to foster a knowledgeable team environment Skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy retail environment Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer needs Proficiency in inventory control systems and the use of RF scanners for accurate stock tracking Experience operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (certification preferred) for load & unload tasks Knowledge of grocery store operations including shipping & receiving, merchandising, heavy lifting, and product packaging Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper ergonomics during stocking or unloading activities Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly attitude that enhances the shopping experience Basic retail math skills for managing stock levels, pricing adjustments, and sales transactions Familiarity with produce handling standards and grocery store safety regulations Strong organizational skills to keep the department clean, well-stocked, and efficiently run at all times Join us as a Grocery Lead Clerk where your enthusiasm and expertise will help shape an outstanding shopping experience!
