Role:
The Checker/Clerk- 1st Stage (Produce) plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of produce inventory as it enters the supply chain. This position is responsible for inspecting, verifying, and documenting incoming produce shipments to maintain high standards of freshness and compliance with company and regulatory guidelines. The role requires meticulous attention to detail to identify any discrepancies or quality issues and to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams. By accurately recording produce data and managing inventory records, the Checker/Clerk supports efficient warehouse operations and helps prevent losses due to spoilage or errors. Ultimately, this position contributes to delivering fresh, high-quality produce to customers and maintaining the company's reputation for excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Basic knowledge of produce types and quality standards. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods. Proficiency in using inventory management software or willingness to learn. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working in produce handling, quality control, or inventory management. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in produce handling. Experience using warehouse management systems or related technology. Good communication skills to effectively liaise with suppliers and team members. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Inspect incoming produce shipments for quality, quantity, and condition according to company standards. Verify and record shipment details such as weight, count, and product codes accurately in inventory systems. Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or quality issues to supervisors and suppliers promptly. Coordinate with warehouse and receiving teams to ensure smooth and timely processing of produce deliveries. Maintain organized and up-to-date documentation and records related to produce receipts and inspections.
