WASTEWATER
MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT, WATER RECLAMATION PLANTS SECTION, DESERT MAINTENANCE GROUP, VALENCIA WATER RECLAMATION PLANT, VALENCIA NOTE
This position reports to the Valencia Water Reclamation Plant warehouse and serves in a roving capacity, supporting the Palmdale Water Reclamation Plant regional warehouse as needed. The role is currently assigned to a 9/80 work schedule of Monday through Thursday (6:30am-4:00pm) and the working Friday (6:30am-3:00pm). Regular Days Off (RDO) are alternating Fridays.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To issue, receive, and maintain an optimum inventory of stock items in a warehouse or stockroom setting, and to provide employees with goods and services associated with stock handling.
JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision from a Supervisor of Treatment Plant Maintenance, the incumbent's duties may include checking out and receiving tools, materials and supplies; inspecting stock and arranging tools and supplies in designated bins or shelves; cleaning assigned areas; making adjustments or repairs to equipment and tools; using a computer terminal to keep records; preparing periodic, special or perpetual inventory of stock; operating light equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks to move stock or a truck to deliver or pick up supplies; receiving, distributing and accounting for uniforms; picking up goods from vendors; and performing related duties as required. Applicants must possess a valid California Class C driver license; - AND - One year of experience involving the receipt, storage and issuance of a variety of supplies and material.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Recent experience utilizing computer systems and inventory management software such as IBM Maximo Application Suite and/or Oracle EBS to support accurate inventory control and recordkeeping. Duties include monitoring stock levels, tracking incoming and outgoing inventory, reconciling discrepancies between physical and system counts, and maintaining organized records. Forklift operation experience and proficiency with computer applications are highly desirable. The competitive selection process may cover a knowledge of : Operation of forklifts and pallet jacks; general principles of issuing and receiving stock; and safety principles of the trade. The ability to : Keep alpha-numeric records; apply standardized warehouse, stock or tool room practices and procedures for receipt, storage, dispensing and inventory of goods and materials.
SELECTION PROCESS
