Join us as a Wellness Associate and support the daily operations of the Wellness Department through exceptional customer service, accurate merchandising, and strong organizational skills. In this role, you'll help shoppers find what they need, maintain a clean and inviting department, and contribute to a welcoming environment aligned with Boise Co-op's values. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Provide world-class customer service by assisting shoppers in locating products and addressing their needs with professionalism and courtesy. Stock and rotate products according to merchandising, sanitation, and pricing standards. Monitor expiration dates and report items nearing expiration to leadership to maintain freshness and compliance. Maintain clean, organized work areas, floor sets, and storage spaces to support a safe and efficient shopping environment. Refill and maintain bulk items—including soaps, herbs, and refillable goods—using established safety and hygiene practices. Assist with building and maintaining product displays to support marketing and sales initiatives. Participate in quarterly inventory counts and contribute to accurate stock records. Communicate clearly with coworkers and leadership to support workflow and ensure excellent customer experiences. WHAT YOU BRING
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks independently. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for positive, knowledgeable customer interactions. Ability to handle moderately complex issues and escalate concerns appropriately. Dependability, flexibility, and adaptability to shifting department needs. Professional attitude with a commitment to teamwork and maintaining a clean, welcoming department. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and varied schedules. EXPERIENCE
Retail experience preferred. Interest in or exposure to holistic wellness, supplements, or natural products preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required. Must be at least 18 years old to operate department equipment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This role requires the ability to work in a grocery and specialty retail environment with prolonged standing and frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting. You must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs., operate equipment requiring repetitive hand movements and fine coordination, and communicate clearly with customers and coworkers. Tasks also require climbing step stools or ladders, repetitive arm and hand motions, and reaching above shoulders or horizontally while stocking or retrieving products. Proper PPE must be worn as required. WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in a busy Wellness Department and grocery setting with frequent customer interaction, consistent movement, and a strong emphasis on safety, product knowledge, and customer care.
