Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Grocery Buyer specializing in Inventory Replenishment to join our procurement team. In this vital role, you will drive the efficient replenishment of grocery inventory, ensuring product availability aligns with customer demand and sales forecasts. Your expertise will help optimize supply chain operations, manage supplier relationships, and utilize advanced ERP systems to maintain seamless inventory flow. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced retail environment where your strategic sourcing and procurement skills will directly impact store performance and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Manage inventory levels by analyzing sales data, forecast trends, and utilizing ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, and AS400 to determine optimal replenishment quantities. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors through negotiation and sourcing strategies to secure favorable contracts, pricing, and delivery schedules. Monitor supply chain activities including logistics, procurement, production planning, and inventory control to ensure timely stock replenishment. Utilize materials management tools and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to plan procurement activities aligned with merchandising plans. Oversee purchase orders within ERP systems, ensuring accuracy in pricing, quantities, and delivery timelines while maintaining compliance with contractual agreements. Collaborate with merchandising teams to align inventory levels with promotional campaigns and seasonal demand fluctuations. Conduct regular audits of inventory management processes to identify discrepancies or inefficiencies and implement corrective actions for continuous improvement. Requirements Proven experience working with ERP systems such as
SAP, SAP ERP, JD
Edwards, Oracle EBS, or similar platforms for materials management and procurement processes. Strong understanding of supply chain management principles including inventory management, logistics, sourcing, and production planning. Demonstrated ability in purchasing negotiations, contract management, and vendor relationship building. Familiarity with inventory control techniques and e-commerce platforms related to grocery retail operations. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and forecast trends accurately. Knowledge of procurement best practices including pricing strategies and contract negotiations. Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments such as merchandising, logistics, and supplier partners.
