Job Title:
Stockroom and Inventory Specialist Job Description The Stockroom and Inventory Specialist maintains accurate inventory and parts for the production team, supports manufacturing jobs by ensuring all materials and labor are properly accounted for, and assists with pulling and packaging orders to keep production running smoothly. Responsibilities Maintain an organized stockroom and ensure accurate inventory levels for all parts and materials used in production. Use ERP/MRP inventory tracking software to update stock levels, issue materials to jobs, and record transactions in real time. Pull and package orders for the production team, ensuring the correct parts, quantities, and documentation accompany each job. Assist with manufacturing jobs by confirming that all required materials are available before work begins. Support job closing activities by verifying that materials and labor are accurately recorded and reconciled at the end of each job. Perform regular cycle counts and inventory checks to identify discrepancies and maintain inventory accuracy. Inspect incoming and stored inventory for quality, condition, and correctness against documentation. Collaborate closely with production staff to understand material needs, resolve shortages, and prioritize urgent orders. Follow established procedures for inventory control, storage, labeling, and documentation. Contribute to a clean, safe, and organized stockroom and production support area. Essential Skills 1-2 years of experience working in a stockroom or similar inventory environment. Hands-on experience with ERP or MRP inventory tracking software. Practical experience with inventory control, including receiving, issuing, and tracking materials. Experience performing cycle counting and resolving inventory discrepancies. Ability to pull, kit, and package orders accurately and efficiently. Inspection experience to verify the quality and correctness of parts and materials. in a manufacturing environment, with understanding of how materials support production. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation. Ability to work collaboratively with production teams and communicate clearly about material needs. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with job closing processes in a manufacturing setting is a plus. Familiarity with standard inventory control best practices. Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced production support environment. Comfort working in a small team and taking initiative to solve problems. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a full-time, on-site role with a typical schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will work closely with a small team of 2-3 colleagues in a relaxed, friendly environment that encourages open communication and teamwork. The setting is a manufacturing and stockroom environment, where you will regularly handle parts, materials, and inventory while using ERP/MRP systems and standard inventory tools. The workplace emphasizes a comfortable, laid-back culture while maintaining an organized and efficient operation. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newburyport, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
