Job Description

Position Summary:
The PC&L Team Leader is responsible for managing the shipping and receiving processes,associate training, complying with standardized work, and operating equipment as needed to cover labor shortages. They are responsible for ensuring the performance metrics and KPI's are achieved and facilitating problem solving activities within their assigned areas.   • Assure incoming and outgoing materials are transacted accurately, promptly and safely.
  • Assure adherence and consistency of Shape shipping and receiving procedures.
  • Assist the PC&L Supervisor in driving continuous improvement of department key measures.
  • Perform monthly physical inventory of the Shipping & Receiving area.
  • Support corporate lean and 5S initiatives.
  • Utilize Shape's problem solving tools to address and resolve issues.
  • Lead shift start meeting (Top5) with all the team members of the team.
  • Ensure smooth hand-off to the next shift by communicating production levels and issues.
  • Lead efforts to improve and update standardized work regularly.
  • Manage versatility process with the APT
  • Help teach and develop team members in lean manufacturing principles and capabilities.
  • Answer associate questions and foster a positive team oriented environment.
  • Perform on-the-job training and cross-training of associates as needed.
  • Identify and train a back-up(s) to fill Material Handler key tasks when absent.
  • Act as back-up leader in the PC&L Supervisor's absence.
  • Perform additional duties assigned as directed by the PC&L Supervisor.
Position Skills and Experience Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty effectively. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.   • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED).
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with managing the receipt of supplies and raw materials and the shipment of finished goods to customers.
  • Knowledge of material handling procedures and equipment (lift trucks, overhead cranes, dock equipment).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Applications (e.g. word, excel, outlook, etc).
  • Previous experience coaching others and/or assisting with on-the-job training preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Plexus, lean manufacturing, Automotive Shipping systems, EDI, ASN, Deljit, Delfor is a plus.
