Summary Under the supervision of the Contracting and Purchasing Manager, this seasonal position performs a variety of tasks related to the receiving, storing, distribution, and inventory control of materials and equipment parts. Responsibilities include fulfilling parts requests, conducting physical counts, maintaining accurate records in the inventory management system, and supporting the overall operations of the stockroom. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Receives materials, verifies documentation against purchase orders, applies applicable barcodes, and records items into the inventory management system. Distributes materials to Road Department employees upon request and ensures inventory records are updated timely and accordingly. Maintains accurate inventory levels through routine physical counts and updates in the electronic inventory system. Posts disbursed items to perpetual inventory tickets. Places orders to replenish stock when appropriate. Ensures appropriate high level of quality items and best overall value. Assists the Contracts & Purchasing Manager in the day-to-day operations of the stockroom to ensure a smooth and efficient flow of materials. Research parts for direct-charge equipment items that are not carried in regular inventory. Organize and stocks shelves with materials, ensuring items are properly organized, labeled, easily accessible, and accurately entered the inventory system by nomenclature, part number and size. Assists the Contracts and Purchasing Manager with the administration and reporting requirements for all records and reports for all daily salt usage. Coordinates with Finance to conduct and reconcile stockroom inventory counts. Reviews inventory for obsolete items and coordinates with Purchasing, Finance, and the Deputy Director to remove outdated items and utilizing salvaged asset auction process and/or trade in. Administers fuel equipment contracts, records and balances fuel tank readings; charges out fuel to appropriate accounts. Performs other related duties as assigned. Job Qualifications Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1-3 years of experience relating to supply chain and/or inventory control procedures/management. Must have outstanding interpersonal skills with a desire to be a team player. Proficient in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Basic knowledge of stock equipment replacement parts and their purpose. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Possess a valid Michigan Drivers' License and an acceptable driving record. Have extensive knowledge of truck and mechanical parts. Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups from a variety of identities, cultures, backgrounds, and ideologies.

Fixed Schedule Occasional travel may be required. A blend of normal office environment, outdoor field work, and garage with occasional discomfort due to heat, dust, noise, and adverse weather conditions. Extended workdays (beyond eight hours/day) are occasionally required. Will occasionally be required to lift/push/pull/carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. Hazardous environmental conditions may be encountered when on the job site reviewing contractor/crew operations.
