This role is essential in providing excellent customer service while ensuring that our products are known, well-stocked and presented. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a knack for retail sales, and a commitment to creating a positive shopping experience for our customers. Duties Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process customer transactions. Provide outstanding customer service by assisting customers with inquiries and resolving issues. Perform cashiering duties, including cash handling and maintaining accurate cash drawers. Stock shelves and ensure that products are displayed attractively through effective merchandising techniques. Conduct product demonstrations to promote new items and enhance customer engagement. Upsell products when appropriate to increase sales and enhance the shopping experience. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and stockroom. Assist in supervising junior staff members, providing guidance on best practices in customer service and stocking procedures. Utilize basic math skills for accurate pricing, discounts, and inventory management. Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure smooth operations. Requirements Previous experience in retail sales or pet store operations is preferred. Strong knowledge of cashiering processes, including cash handling and basic math skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on phone etiquette. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to better serve our diverse customer base. Experience in merchandising and stocking is a plus, along with familiarity with product demos. Ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining a friendly demeanor. Supervising experience is desirable for those looking to take on additional responsibilities within the team.
