Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Shift Supervisor at Herbalwai NYS Dispensary located in Buffalo, NY. The Shift Supervisor will be responsible for tasks such as to oversee daily operations in our dispensary. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen understanding of retail math, and the ability to effectively manage staff while ensuring exceptional customer service. This role is crucial in maintaining the quality of our store's environment and ensuring that all operational tasks are executed efficiently. Some of the responsibilities will be as follows... Responsibilities Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner. Guide customers through product selection based on their needs, preferences, and budget. Provide expert knowledge of products and consumption methods. Process transactions quickly and accurately through the dispensary's Point of Sale (POS) system. Maintain a clean and organized dispensary, ensuring shelves are stocked. Educate customers on the safe and effective use of products. Verify customer age and ID. Manage inventory and ensure products are labeled accurately. Stay updated on industry trends and new products. Supervise and coordinate daily activities of staff to ensure smooth operations during shifts. Monitor inventory levels, manage stock replenishment, and assist with buying decisions to optimize product availability. Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures while providing excellent customer service. Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues effectively, demonstrating strong phone etiquette. Maintain a clean and organized store environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Analyze sales data and retail math to make informed decisions that enhance store performance. Qualifications Product Knowledge and Inventory Management skills Friendly, customer-focused attitude Communication and Customer Service skills Cash Handling skills Experience in the cannabis industry is a plus Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Excellent interpersonal skills Organizational abilities to manage inventory and product displays. Knowledge of state regulations related to cannabis sales Must meet the minimum age requirement per NYS (21 years of age or older) Previous experience as an Assistant Manager or in a supervisory role within a retail environment is preferred. Strong understanding of market trends and consumer behavior. Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a team effectively. Proficiency in retail math and inventory management practices. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. A positive attitude with a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
