Full Job Description Overview:
Riverwards Produce is a group of produce focused markets in Philadelphia. The Grocery Receiver position at Riverwards Produce takes ownership of the intake of products being delivered to the markets and works closely with the management group to establish best practices with receiving product and handling invoices. While Grocery is their primary focus, they may also be asked to assist in receiving for other departments. They also assist the Grocery department with price auditing to ensure we have a profitable blended margin within our markets. They have an expert knowledge of Grocery operations, and they serve to help customers and staff with inquiries/suggestions.
Reports to:
Lead Receiver Responsibilities:
Collaborates with Grocery managers to audit product mix for updated pricing against invoices Collaborates with Grocery Department on inventory management and preparation for physical inventory counts Responsible for in-store training and development with regards to receiving Responsible for effectively relaying information, and conducting thorough follow up on all action points Serves as the primary point of contact for vendors when Store or Department managers are not present Creates and maintains procedural documentation and internal tools Responsible for processing all Grocery invoices, and following up on any required credits/claims with management, and the Lead Receiver Responsible for scanning in/checking in all relevant large deliveries Maintains expert knowledge of ECRS and POS systems
Requirements:
Experience receiving, processing, and merchandising grocery & produce in a retail setting Passion for the principles of sustainable food and farming A team player with a willingness to jump in and help with all tasks Ability to roll with the punches of a rapidly growing start-up business Ability to lift 50+ lbs and spend 8+ hours standing and walking up and down stairs Excellent verbal and written communication skills Detail oriented and able to communicate easily and often with team and managers Flexibility in scheduling, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays A positive attitude and an enthusiastic desire to provide storewide customer service Working knowledge of local food makers
COMPENSATION
Compensation begins at $18/hr. Riverwards Produce provides a 20% discount on all store products. Benefits include health, dental and medical insurance (for full time employees), paid parental leave, Employee Assistance Program, Paid Time Off, and flexible scheduling.
