Based in New York, IDEKO executes projects nationwide for some of the world's most recognizable brands, agencies, sports organizations, venues, and institutions. With in-house capabilities including fabrication, large-format printing, permitting, logistics, and technical production, IDEKO delivers turnkey solutions for highly complex projects requiring seamless execution from concept through completion. Our work includes major public activations, sporting events, immersive brand experiences, temporary structures, projection mapping installations, festivals, corporate events, and civic programming. Position Summary IDEKO Productions is seeking an Assistant Technical Producer to join our growing Technical Production team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in experiential marketing, live events, entertainment production, staging, exhibits, or technical event production who is looking to advance their career toward a Technical Producer position. The Assistant Technical Producer will support project planning, technical design, vendor management, budgeting, drafting, permitting, and onsite execution. This individual will work directly with Technical Producers, Executive Producers, Fabricators, Engineers, and Clients to bring complex projects to life. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically minded, comfortable working both in the office and in the field, and capable of creating professional-quality Vectorworks drawing packages. Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Production & Drafting Develop and maintain event site plans, venue layouts, floor plans, infrastructure plans, and production drawings using Vectorworks. Create technical drawing packages for permitting, engineering review, fabrication, and client presentations. Draft staging, scenic, truss, lighting, audio, video, power, and temporary structure layouts. Coordinate drawing revisions based on client, venue, engineering, and production feedback. Maintain drawing standards, project file organization, and version control. Conduct site surveys and field measurements to ensure drawing accuracy. Assist in preparing permit submission packages and engineering documentation. Support technical planning for complex temporary installations and live events. Pre-Production Assist Technical Producers in planning and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Solicit vendor bids and prepare bid comparisons. Coordinate equipment rentals, labor, transportation, fabrication, and production vendors. Assist with project budgeting, estimating, and cost tracking. Maintain production schedules, contact lists, project trackers, and logistics documents. Coordinate insurance requirements and vendor compliance documentation. Participate in client meetings, site visits, production meetings, and venue walkthroughs. Assist in preparing production books and onsite documentation. Onsite Event Execution Travel to project sites throughout the United States. Support event load-ins, rehearsals, event operations, and load-outs. Serve as a point of contact for vendors, labor crews, venue representatives, and project stakeholders. Manage production assistants, runners, and temporary staff. Coordinate crew logistics, credentialing, radios, transportation, and catering. Track field changes, budget impacts, and production issues. Participate in daily production meetings and distribute project updates. Ensure all work is executed safely and in accordance with company standards. Post-Production Support project closeout and vendor reconciliation. Review invoices and assist with final budget reconciliation. Coordinate return of rented equipment and materials. Maintain organized project documentation and archives. Participate in project debriefs and lessons-learned reviews. Required Qualifications 2-5 years of experience in live events, experiential marketing, technical production, entertainment production, exhibits, or related fields. Strong proficiency in Vectorworks. Ability to independently create site plans, production drawings, and permit packages. Working knowledge of staging, rigging, temporary structures, scenic construction, power distribution, audio, video, and lighting systems. Strong project management and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Willingness to travel and work evenings, weekends, and extended production hours when required. Preferred Qualifications Experience producing permit drawing packages for temporary events. Experience with Vectorworks Experience working with engineers and permitting agencies. Experience supporting scenic fabrication or custom fabrication projects. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Knowledge of New York City permitting processes. Experience with large-scale public events, sporting events, festivals, and brand activations. What Success Looks Like Within your first year, you will: Successfully support multiple large-scale projects from concept through execution. Independently create and maintain project drawing packages. Effectively manage vendor coordination and production logistics. Pay:
$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
