In this hands-on role, you will learn to maintain accurate inventory, organize materials, and support production by ensuring the right parts are available at the right time. Key Responsibilities Learns to read production schedules or shipping orders to determine items to be pulled or distributed. Learns how to convey materials from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas. Learns to mark materials with identifying information. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to Company procedure. Learns to arrange stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers. Learns to record amounts of materials or items received or distributed. Learns to weigh or count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to Company standards. Learns how to use Company computer system to enter records and track inventory. Learns to keep stockroom in a clean, safe and organized manner. Learns to use and maintain all material handling equipment and how to work material handling procedures to ensure warehouse safety. Immediately corrects or informs Inventory Control Manager if any safety hazards are observed. Learns to carry out instructions with a minimum of supervision quickly and accurately and communicates with Supervisor, or Manager about stock level, parts shortages and material flow. Learns to carry out all work instructions by following ISO (International Organization for Standardization) procedures. Maintains a satisfactory attendance and punctuality record. Other duties may be assigned by a Manager/Supervisor in other areas or departments as needed. Qualifications Strong organizational skills with the ability to accurately manage inventory, materials, and stock locations Experience receiving, stocking, pulling, and distributing materials in a warehouse, stockroom, or manufacturing environment Proficient computer skills with the ability to enter records and track inventory in company systems Ability to read and follow production schedules, shipping orders, inventory procedures, and work instructions Must be detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate inventory records and counts Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 70 pounds Forklift experience or certification is a plus Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of this role. Education and Experience A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.) is required for any role at AGM. Six months to one year of relevant stockroom experience and/or training is required; an equivalent combination of training and experience in combination with a higher level of education will be considered.
Certifications/Licenses:
May be required to become forklift certified. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally work around moving mechanical parts or machines. In addition, the employee is exposed to, and may come in direct contact with, potentially hazardous chemicals or materials. Therefore, the employee must follow proper safety procedures.
