Job Overview - Valuation Associate (Private Markets)
Compensation:
$125,000 - $145,000/year + bonus
Location:
New York, NY Schedule:
Monday to Friday (Hybrid) Atlantic Group is hiring a Valuation Associate (Private Markets) in New York, NY for our client, supporting valuation analysis, financial modeling, portfolio monitoring, and investment reporting across private credit, private equity, and other alternative investment strategies. This opportunity will work closely with investment, risk, operations, and portfolio management teams to perform complex valuation analyses and support ongoing monitoring of illiquid investments. The ideal candidate will bring strong valuation experience, advanced financial modeling skills, and a deep understanding of private markets. Responsibilities as the
Valuation Associate:
Valuation Analysis:
Perform valuation assessments for private credit, private equity, and other illiquid investments using accepted valuation methodologies and market data.
Financial Modeling:
Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models, including discounted cash flow analyses, comparable company analyses, market multiple analyses, and transaction-based valuation models.
Portfolio Monitoring:
Conduct ongoing reviews of portfolio investments and market conditions to support accurate valuation reporting and risk assessment.
Reporting & Presentations:
Prepare valuation reports, investment analyses, and presentation materials for internal stakeholders, clients, and investment committees.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with investment, risk, operations, and client teams to support valuation processes, investment monitoring, and portfolio management initiatives.
Market Research:
Analyze industry trends, market activity, and comparable transactions to support valuation conclusions and investment decision-making. Qualifications for the
Valuation Associate:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field is required.
Experience:
3-6 years of experience in valuation, transaction advisory, investment analysis, financial consulting, or related functions is required.
Industry Knowledge:
Experience valuing private credit, private equity, alternative investments, or other illiquid assets is required.
Technical Skills:
Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling skills are required, and experience with VBA or other analytical tools is preferred.
Skills & Attributes:
Strong analytical, quantitative, communication, and presentation skills with exceptional attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are required.
