Job Description
Smith Family Produce is looking for a friendly, dependable, and hardworking Seasonal Produce Associate to join our team! This position is cross-trained between cashier duties and stocking produce, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys staying busy and interacting with customers. This is an outdoor position working under covered tents throughout the summer season. Position Overview Most positions will begin around 20 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours as the season progresses and business demand increases. Job Duties Operate the Square register system Handle cash and card transactions accurately Assist customers with questions and provide excellent customer service Learn produce varieties and answer common customer questions Restock produce displays and maintain organization Grade produce and assist with quality control Carry heavy produce, including watermelons and large bags, for customers when needed Assist with unloading deliveries and daily stand setup/cleanup Requirements Strong customer service and communication skills Basic cash handling and money management skills Willingness to learn the Square register system Ability to work outdoors in summer heat Ability to lift heavy crates, boxes, and produce repeatedly Dependable transportation and reliable attendance Team player with a positive attitude Produce knowledge is a plus, but the ability to learn and retain product information is required Pay & Perks Starting pay is based on experience, knowledge, and position responsibilities, with opportunities for raises based on reliability, work ethic, overall performance, and produce knowledge Drinks and water provided during shifts Breakfast and lunch provided Access to produce seconds Occasional access to fresh produce "firsts" from our personal garden harvests Family-oriented work environment
