Job Description

Required Education:
    High School DiplomaRequired Skills & Experience:
    • 1-2 plus years' experience.
    • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling and inventory tasks.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, emotionally sensitive environment.
    • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
    • Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach.
    This role will support the hospital gift shop customer service & sales team. Providing excellent customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff in a compassionate, hospital-based retail environment.
    Job Responsibilities:
    • Greet customers, answer product questions, and assist with selections and purchases.
    • Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems to process transactions accurately (cash, credit, mobile payments).
    • Handle returns, exchanges, and basic customer concerns in a professional manner and maintain a welcoming, clean, and organized shopping environment.
    • Merchandising & inventory, support stocking shelves, racks, and displays with merchandise in accordance with visual standards.
    • Assist with receiving, unpacking, and organizing inventory shipments. Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to supervisors.
    • Ensure proper pricing, labeling, and signage accuracy. Support seasonal resets, promotional displays, and special campaigns.
    • Store operations maintain the cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, checkout area, and stockroom.
    • Follow opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and register balancing (if assigned).
    • Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control guidelines.
    • Assist with loss prevention practices and report discrepancies or concerns regarding mission support (if applicable).
    • Represent the organization's mission with professionalism and sensitivity to support fundraising initiatives through merchandise and promotional efforts.
    • Engage customers in mission-aligned conversations when appropriate and work collaboratively with full-time staff, volunteers, and leadership.
    • Communicate effectively regarding shift updates, inventory issues, and customer feedback.
    • Provide support across both organization and hospital retail locations as needed.
    • Perform basic administrative tasks such as data entry, tagging, or organizing records.
    • Assist with special events, pop-up shops, or hospital-related initiatives.
    • Complete assigned tasks and projects within designated timelines.
    • Adapt to changing needs in a dynamic healthcare environment.
