This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop retail skills in the varied-paced environment of a local small business that offers both retail and online sales. Duties Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process transactions swiftly and efficiently Assist customers with product questions, provide product demos when applicable, and recommend additional items through upselling techniques Maintain clean and organized merchandising displays to attract customer attention and promote sales Stock shelves, organize inventory, and ensure products are properly labeled and replenished throughout the day Handle cash, credit card transactions, and perform cash and credit handling duties with integrity and accuracy Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering inquiries professionally, and practicing good phone etiquette Support product demonstrations to educate customers about features and benefits, enhancing their shopping experience Skills Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively. Proven experience in retail sales environment with knowledge of retail math for accurate cash and credit handling and transactions Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly for checkout accuracy and inventory management Familiarity with merchandising techniques to assist with optimization of product placement and store presentation Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and patience in busy settings, awareness of environment and retail needs during slower times Knowledge of phone etiquette for professional communication with customers and team members Sewing skills are a plus but not required Knowledge of leather types is a plus but not required This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to grow their retail expertise while providing outstanding service.
