We are looking for enthusiastic team members who enjoy engaging with customers and working in a fun, fast-paced environment Position Summary The Retail Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service throughout the guest experience. This includes greeting guests, assisting with product selection, answering questions about our pies and other offerings, entering and ringing up orders, processing deposits, and recording customized orders accurately. Associates play a key role in maintaining positive guest relations and representing the friendly, welcoming spirit of Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop Key Responsibilities Warmly welcome and interact with customers in a positive, friendly manner Assist customers with product selection and make suggestions based on their needs Educate guests about our pies, cookies, and other menu items Enter orders into the point-of-sale system and accurately ring up transactions Process deposits and handle customized orders and special requests Anticipate guest needs and provide helpful information or assistance Perform side work such as stocking, cleaning work areas, and organizing displays Help maintain pricing accuracy and signage in accordance with company guidelines Clean floors, restrooms, shelving, and display areas as needed Some light baking duties supporting the Baker and Manager Packaging and boxing of products Qualifications Must be at least 16 years old Previous customer service or retail sales experience preferred Availability for a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends, preferred Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. independently and up to 80 lbs. with assistance Strong verbal communication skills; ability to read, write, and speak English fluently Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills Proven reliability and positive work history Familiarity with desserts, baking, or the food service industry is a plus Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and lifting Ability to repeatedly lift and carry up to 40 lbs., and occasionally up to 80 lbs. with assistance Exposure to typical retail and kitchen hazards including slipping or tripping; occasional handling of broken glass Why Work With Us Friendly, team-oriented environment Opportunities to learn about our products and the baking industry Employee discounts and growth opportunities The Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop story begins in the kitchens of our grandmothers, Ruth and Edith, from Arkansas and Mississippi.
