Job Description

Position Summary The Head Stocker is responsible for leading the stocking team to maintain a fully stocked, clean, and organized sales floor and backroom. This role ensures merchandise is accurately received, stocked, rotated, and displayed in accordance with company standards while supporting operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Coordination Direct and oversee stockers in day-to-day duties, including stocking, facing, and backroom organization Train, coach, and support team members to ensure productivity and proper procedures Assign tasks and adjust priorities based on business needs and delivery schedules Promote a safe, efficient, and team-focused work environment Stocking & Inventory Management Ensure shelves, displays, and endcaps are consistently stocked and front-facing Oversee truck unloading and ensure timely breakdown and distribution of product Maintain proper product rotation (FIFO) to minimize shrink and out-of-date merchandise Monitor out-of-stocks and communicate needs to department managers Ensure accurate placement of product according to planograms Backroom & Organization Maintain a clean, safe, and organized backroom at all times Ensure proper storage of overstock and seasonal items Adhere to safety standards, including proper use of equipment and lifting techniques Operational Excellence Support store readiness for peak hours, promotions, and ad changes Assist with inventory counts and audits as needed Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and merchandising guidelines Customer Service Provide prompt, courteous, and helpful service to customers when on the sales floor Assist customers with locating products and answering general questions Support a positive shopping experience through well-stocked and visually appealing shelves Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous retail or stocking experience required; leadership experience preferred Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment Basic understanding of inventory processes and merchandising standards Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching Ability to work in varying temperatures (backroom, cooler/freezer if applicable) Work Environment Fast-paced retail environment with frequent deadlines Early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday availability may be required
