In this energetic position, you'll be the friendly face that greets customers, assists with product selection, manages transactions efficiently, and maintains organized merchandise displays. Your enthusiasm and proactive approach will help drive sales and foster a welcoming environment for all shoppers. This paid position offers the opportunity to develop valuable retail skills while contributing to a vibrant team atmosphere. Responsibilities Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges while handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods with professionalism. Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, offering product demos, and guiding shoppers through their purchase decisions. Assist with merchandising by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are presented attractively to maximize sales opportunities. Conduct product demos when appropriate to highlight features and benefits to customers, encouraging upselling and enhancing their shopping experience. Maintain accurate cash handling procedures and perform basic math calculations for transactions to ensure register accuracy. Support inventory management through stocking shelves, conducting stock counts, and alerting supervisors of low inventory levels. Demonstrate strong communication skills and phone etiquette when interacting with customers or coordinating with team members in a fast-paced grocery store environment. Skills Proficiency in operating POS systems and cash registers with attention to detail in cash handling. Prior supervising or leadership experience is a plus for mentoring new team members. Bilingual abilities are highly valued to assist diverse customer needs effectively. Excellent communication skills combined with polite phone etiquette for customer interactions. Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions and inventory counts. Experience in grocery stores or retail sales environments is preferred to understand store operations seamlessly. Strong merchandising skills along with the ability to stock shelves efficiently while maintaining an organized store layout. Knowledge of upselling techniques and product demos to boost sales performance.
