Through the power of locally grown food, we uplift local farmers, foster the growth of our regional food ecosystem, and nurture the well-being of our community. We connect Wisconsin farmers directly with customers through a farm stop model, a year-round indoor marketplace where farmers set their own prices and keep 70% of every sale. Alongside the market, we run a full-service café serving locally roasted coffee, pastries, smoothies, and more. Everyone on our team plays a direct role in that mission, in every customer interaction, every drink made, and every product stocked. The Role We are looking for Cafe and Market Clerks to join our team at launch in both part-time and full-time capacities. This is a cross-trained, generalist role. You will work across both the café and the market floor depending on the needs of your shift. No two shifts are exactly alike, and we want people who find that energizing. This is a ground-floor opportunity at a brand-new business. We are building the culture, the systems, and the team from scratch. The people we hire at launch will shape what Grandad's becomes.

7am - 7pm, Seven days a week What You'll Do All Cafe and Market Clerks are cross-trained to work across the full store. Depending on your shift, your day might include: Café Prepare and serve drip coffee, espresso drinks, cold brew, tea, smoothies, and pastries to our quality standards Keep the café area clean, stocked, and running efficiently during your shift Learn our menu, ingredients, and coffee sourcing so you can speak to customers with confidence Handle transactions accurately using our point-of-sale system Market Floor Receive and stock vendor deliveries; rotate products and maintain proper presentation Keep the market floor clean, organized, and well-signed throughout your shift Help customers find products, answer questions about our farmers and sourcing, and explain what is in season Handle customer transactions at the register General Contribute to opening and closing tasks as assigned Maintain food safety and sanitation standards at all times Communicate clearly with your team and manager about what needs attention Show up on time, ready to work, and willing to jump in wherever the shift needs you Who We're Looking For We are looking for people who are warm, reliable, and genuinely connected to local food. Experience in a café, farmers market, food co-op, or grocery store is a plus, but not required. If you have not worked in food before but you shop at farmers markets, cook from scratch, and care about where your food comes from, tell us that. We will train the right people. What we cannot train is a love for this mission and the ability to make every person who walks through the door feel welcome. Weekend availability is required. The right person for this role: Has experience in a cafe, food service, a farmers market, or grocery retail. Preferred but not required. Has a genuine personal connection to local food. Is warm, curious, and comfortable talking with everyone and making all kinds of people feel welcomed. Takes pride in doing things right, even the small stuff. Is reliable and shows up. Physical Requirements This role requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods per shift; lift and carry up to 50 lbs; work in varying temperatures including walk-in coolers; and perform repetitive hand and wrist movements.
