Produce Lead/Team Lead/Supervisor

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Produce Lead to oversee the produce department in our Co-op.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of fresh produce is available to our customers while maintaining an organized and efficient work environment. This role requires strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, work ethic, the ability to be flexible and learn, and most importantly a passion for customer service. Duties Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and stocking fresh produce items. Conduct regular quality checks on all produce to ensure freshness and safety standards are met. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the produce department, including displays and storage areas. Assist customers with inquiries regarding produce selection, preparation, and usage. Utilize retail math skills to analyze sales trends and make informed decisions regarding product placement and promotions. Operate cash registers as needed, ensuring accurate transactions and customer satisfaction. Perform heavy lifting as required when stocking shelves or moving inventory. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations within the store. Qualifications Previous experience in a grocery store or retail environment is preferred. Strong knowledge of inventory management practices and retail math is essential. Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to health and safety regulations. Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service. Capability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) as part of daily responsibilities. A proactive approach to problem-solving and team collaboration is highly valued.
