This is an entry-level opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn and develop a career in the critical field of construction and outage management. The successful candidate will support the construction and outage sequencing process by assisting with the scheduling and coordination of transmission system projects. This position focuses on learning and applying constructability principles to help ensure the efficient execution of maintenance and upgrades while minimizing downtime. Working closely with senior team members, you will be a key part of efforts to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the planning and sequencing of outage phases, helping to align tasks with constructability principles.
Support the evaluation of the feasibility of each outage phase, learning to identify potential constructability issues.
Help with the allocation of resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, to each outage phase to ensure optimal use.
Collaborate with other departments to learn how outage sequencing is coordinated with project timelines and operational constraints.
Assist in monitoring outage progress, identifying issues or delays, and communicating them to the team.
Contribute to maintaining records and documentation related to outage sequencing.
Learn and help promote all safety standards and protocols during outage sequencing and execution.
Present outage requests to the Project Management Team, ensuring they meet Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Maryland Interconnection (PJM) outage submission requirements.
Work directly with the Transmission System Operator (TSO) and Regional Distribution (RDO) when applicable.
Attend and participate in walk-downs to:
Confirm the validity of clearance points and the practicality of proposed Outage Sequences.
Assist the Project team with scope discussions.
Develop specific checklists for each walk-down with the project team's assistance.
Document all meetings and discussions related to project constructability.
Ability to be present on-site when needed. This may require lodging near the project site. Per diem to be provided.
Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Associate or bachelor's degree, or current enrollment in a program such as electrical engineering technology, energy management, relay technician training, or a related technical field.
High school diploma and a demonstrated aptitude for this type of work will be considered.
A strong desire to learn about outage sequencing, construction processes, and system operations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, computer/laptop usage, mobile devices, and other technology and software required to complete job requirements.
An aptitude for understanding technical principles and resource management.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a positive and collaborative attitude.
