Job Summary:
We are seeking a Technical Development Associate to join our Technical Development Team. The primary responsibilities will be to provide product and application expertise, insight and troubleshooting assistance for all Vector Laboratories' reagents to researchers across the life sciences fields and to our distributors worldwide. The Technical Development Associate will also contribute to the growing company-wide knowledge base of technical documents and resources. The role will help in the generation of technical materials and support for the marketing and sales teams. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, a creative thinker, and a problem solver who enjoys direct interaction with people. They will be a team player with strong communication, organizational, and time management skills. The position is customer facing and requires interdepartmental collaboration for problem solving. Previous experience in a technical support role in a life science company would be beneficial. This position reports to the Technical Development Manager.Responsibilities:
- Provide prompt and accurate technical support via phone and electronically to customers, domestic and international, encompassing all aspects of pre- and post-sales product use, application advice, troubleshooting and complaint handling.
- Generate and maintain precise entries in the technical service database.
- Generate technical documentation such as COAs and datasheets. Organize and maintain documentation across company brands.
- Collaborate with internal company departments and individuals to investigate and answer customer inquiries and issues.
- Contribute to the product knowledge database through independent research, customer inquiries, and feedback.
- Assist in writing and generating marketing collateral such as product flyers, technical data sheets, product specification sheets, brochures, graphics and digital web/email/social media content.
- Provide feedback regarding competitive products and related information.
- Provide a positive customer experience.
- Represent company at life science vendor shows and conferences. Job Qualifications ( Experience, Education, Knowledge, and Skills) :
- Experience with techniques such as immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence and related histological methods.
- Experience in a histology core facility a plus.
- Working knowledge of ELISAs, blotting, flow cytometry and nucleic acid applications.
- Working knowledge of linkers and bioconjugation is a plus.
- Knowledge of the global life science reagent market and products.
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a group, to accomplish department and company-wide objectives.
- Comfortability working with Sr level and/or management on resolving more complex cases.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Previous technical support experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM tools is a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 5% for work related business, if needed.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry or related life science field required. Advanced degree (MS, PhD) preferred. Competencies Identified forSuccess:
