The role involves supporting a large‑scale Purview implementation for a financial IT client, partnering with a new Data Governance team to validate strategy, provide best practices, and lead hands‑on implementation. Candidates should have 5+ years of governance/compliance experience, strong Purview expertise, and the ability to balance strategic consulting with technical execution.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess & validate governance frameworks and operating models
  • Provide strategic guidance on Purview adoption & best practices
  • Configure and implement Purview capabilities across enterprise
  • Support data classification, labeling, retention & catalog initiatives
  • Align governance policies with compliance & data management goals
  • Partner with Microsoft 365, Azure, SharePoint, Teams integrations
  • Conduct gap assessments & recommend improvements
  • Provide technical support during deployment & rollout
  • Document governance processes & configurations
  • Deliver knowledge transfer to internal governance teams
Required Skills:
  • 5+ years in Data Governance/Compliance initiatives
  • Hands‑on Microsoft Purview implementation experience
  • Strong knowledge of governance frameworks, classification, lifecycle management, compliance, metadata/cataloging
  • Experience in Microsoft 365 & Azure environments
  • Strong communication & stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to balance consulting strategy with technical execution
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting new Data Governance organizations
  • Microsoft certifications (Purview, Security, Compliance, Azure)
  • Knowledge of DLP, eDiscovery, information protection
  • Consulting/advisory background preferred
