Active Secret Clearance Position is contingent upon contract award. Position Overview The Tech Librarian LOGSU-8 supports the technical library and document control functions for LOGSU-8 in Pearl City, Hawaii , ensuring maintenance, certification, and technical information resources are complete, current, organized, and accessible for supported assets and programs. This role provides technical research, planning, document control, revision management, records accountability, and technical publication support for DDS, DCS, SDV, SWCS, diving systems, and related support equipment. The position also supports work package development and helps maintain the integrity, availability, and security of technical manuals, drawings, procedures, APLs, and associated documentation required for maintenance and certification activities. Key Responsibilities Assist in the research, planning, and development of Controlled Work Packages while ensuring certification and technical requirements are accounted for within DSS-SOC boundaries and related support programs. Provide technical research and planning support and apply technical library organizational requirements in accordance with applicable NAVSEA, SECNAV, and JFMM guidance. Support inventory control, revision control, accountability, record keeping, and security of technical documents. Maintain a consolidated information center to support maintenance for assigned assets and miscellaneous support equipment. Provide the Quality Assurance and Planning Offices with accountability, control, integrity, and security of technical publications, manuals, work procedures, drawings, APLs, and test procedures. Ensure current revisions received from supporting planning yards are incorporated into technical manuals, drawings, instructions, and related information resources. Analyze, evaluate, and maintain written procedures describing maintenance and repair processes that enhance platform maintenance capability. Conduct technical procedure and data research and assist in preparation of Liaison Action Requests (LARs), Technical Manual Deficiency Evaluation Reports (TMDERs), and Technical Feedback Reports (TFBRs). Interface with OEM manufacturers and other service providers, as needed, in support of assigned tasks. Support work package development services and process technical document changes to support accurate performance of planned and corrective maintenance. Maintain technical documents, manuals, test procedures, and drawings for DDS, DCS, SDV, SWCS, diving systems, crane operations, clean room/calibration, SUBSAFE, METCAL, and related program areas. Control technical document distribution, including printing hard copies, maintaining an electronic library on the LAN, enabling access to updated technical documents within 48 hours of change, and issuing email alerts on updates. Participate in weekly meetings regarding the status of required technical publications. Operate Government vehicles as required to carry out assigned tasking. Minimum Requirements to be considered Minimum of 12 years of experience with FMP management practices and a thorough knowledge of automated modernization information systems applicable to K, KP, and D SHIPALTS and SHIPALT contractor and installation activities. Minimum of 12 years of experience interpreting and implementing a broad range of management policies in automated modernization management systems . High School Diploma or equivalent plus 12 years of related experience . Active Secret Clearance required . Prior military experience preferred . Work Environment / Additional Conditions Work is performed primarily at LOGSU-8, Pearl City, HI , within Government facilities supportingNSWG-8 IMD
program requirements. The role requires work in a technical library and document-control environment supporting maintenance, certification, QA, and planning functions for undersea and support systems. The position involves maintaining both hard-copy and electronic technical libraries , including document indexing, revision tracking, records control, and secure distribution. The role requires recurring coordination with QA, planning, maintenance personnel, planning yards, and outside service providers in support of documentation and maintenance readiness. Participation in weekly status meetings is required. The position requires operation of Government vehicles as applicable to assigned duties. Contractor personnel must maintain required security standards for access to Government facilities, systems, technical information, and classified/sensitive materials.
