Description of Work:
At the University of Nebraska's College of Engineering, our mission is to train the next generation engineering workforce and solve problems of global importance. We're one college in two cities (Lincoln and Omaha) on three campuses. This position is located on the Scott Campus in Omaha, NE. As the Classroom Technology Support Associate, you will: Assist the Learning Spaces Project Manager with the development, planning, implementation and advocacy of collaboration services and distance education in the College of Engineering Provide troubleshooting of technical equipment Train and supervise student technicians to provide first-line support of staff and faculty meeting in collaborative spaces and teaching in distance learning classrooms Serve as an escalation point for student technicians Be responsible for documentation of support calls, maintenance, and utilization record Assist in the installation of audio-visual and collaborative technologies Research and recommend hardware and software to improve the College's collaborative technologies Provide input on strategic directions to further distance education within the

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field plus two (2) years of experience providing IT support or related work. Equivalent education/experience considered. Experience with both Windows and Mac operating systems. Ability to install, troubleshoot, and repair computer hardware and software including audiovisual and collaborative technologies. Strong track record of providing excellent customer service. Strong communication, documentation, and technical skills. Ability to learn administration of multiple college IT systems and the ability to train others in their use.
Preferred Qualifications:
The following qualifications are preferred but not required: Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field. Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) or similar certification. Experience with system maintenance, documentation, and schematic drawings. Experience with training, instructional design, and/or project management.
