Job Description

Full-Time Summary Holderness & Bourne is a fast-growing men's golf apparel brand based in Armonk, New York with a company culture that emphasizes excellence, collaboration, and a friendly work environment. We are seeking a full-time Technical Designer with a minimum of 6 years of multi-category experience to join our design team. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in knit and woven tops, bottoms, and outerwear. This role involves working closely with our Design and Production departments to generate precise measurements and detailed tech packs. You will oversee the fit process from initial development through production—including PP (Pre-Production) and TOP (Top of Production) sample review—to ensure our products meet the highest standards of fit and quality.
Key Responsibilities Tech Pack Development:
Collaborate with the Design team to create comprehensive development and production tech packs.
Specification Management:
Measure samples and enter detailed specs into tech packs prior to fittings.
Fit Execution:
Lead in-person fittings; evaluate samples on live models to provide clear, detailed fit comments and corrections to overseas factories.
Revisions:
Update tech packs to reflect design changes, construction adjustments, and spec revisions as needed.
Timeline Adherence:
Maintain the development and production cycle to ensure all technical deadlines are met.
Grading:
Provide accurate graded specifications to ensure consistent fit across all styles and sizes.
Quality Assurance:
Measure and review
PP / TOP
samples, providing critical feedback to overseas partners.
Cross-Functional Support:
Communicate feedback to internal teams and cross-functional partners to ensure product excellence.
Problem Solving:
Monitor quality concerns and production issues to provide proactive technical solutions and recommendations.
Project Management:
Plan and organize workload according to the production schedule and seasonal calendar.
Team Collaboration:
Assist the team as needed, maintaining a flexible, helpful mentality.
Qualifications Experience:
Minimum 6 years of experience in the apparel industry as a Technical Designer (menswear background preferred).
Education:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Technical Design, Fashion Design, or a related field.
Technical Expertise:
Extensive knowledge of pattern making, garment construction, points of measurement, and grading.
Factory Communication:
Proven experience in live model fitting and communicating detailed technical corrections to overseas vendors. Software Proficiency Proficient in Microsoft Office . Working knowledge of CLO 3D for pattern correction. Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator is a plus.
Soft Skills:
Extremely detail-oriented, organized, and a strong communicator (both written and oral).
Adaptability:
Ability to problem-solve, multi-task, and pivot directions in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary:
$95,000 - $105,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications).
