Job Description
Position Summary The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth through the sale of marine travel lifts, shuttle lifts, and material handling equipment, along with related parts and service solutions. This role combines technical expertise with consultative sales to support customers in selecting, purchasing, and maintaining specialized heavy equipment. Key Responsibilities Develop and expand customer relationships within an assigned territory, targeting marinas, shipyards, industrial facilities, and commercial operations. Identify new business opportunities and actively pursue leads for equipment, parts, and service sales. Conduct site visits to assess customer needs and recommend appropriate marine lifting and material handling solutions. Prepare and present detailed proposals, quotes, and equipment specifications tailored to customer requirements. Collaborate with engineering, service, and operations teams to ensure accurate product configuration and delivery. Maintain strong technical knowledge of travel lifts, shuttle lifts, cranes, and related equipment, including capabilities, applications, and maintenance requirements. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts while maintaining profitability and customer satisfaction. Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through closing and post-sale support. Track and report sales activities, forecasts, and market trends using CRM tools. Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and vendor training programs. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and customer requirements. Core Competencies Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and explain heavy equipment systems Proven consultative sales and relationship-building skills Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, drawings, and proposals Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite High level of professionalism, integrity, and customer focus
Qualifications Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience) Minimum 2-5 years of experience in industrial, heavy equipment, or technical sales Experience with marine, lifting, or material handling equipment strongly preferred Requirements Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Ability to travel extensively within assigned territory, including overnight travel Ability to visit job sites, including marine environments, shipyards, and industrial facilities Comfortable working around heavy equipment and outdoor conditions Work Environment & Physical Demands Frequent travel to customer sites, including docks, shipyards, and industrial locations Ability to walk job sites, climb equipment, and perform site evaluations Occasional lifting (up to 25-50 lbs) and extended periods of standing or drivingWork Location:
