Job Description
Come join our customer-oriented, frequently fast-paced work environment with opportunities for skills, knowledge, benefit and pay growth! Consultatively sell batteries, light bulbs and accessory items to retail and commercial customers. Pleasantly engage customers, listen to what they have to say about their batteries/systems and lighting needs, and recommend solutions. Perform battery tests, installations, device repairs and battery pack rebuilds. Contribute as a Team Member to the overall success of the store. Trust Advisors must be able to lift 50 + pounds, should have a valid driver's license, and must have access to reliable transportation. Integrity, reliability, helpful/courteous customer orientation, product knowledge, sales skills, and a friendly Team orientation are critical factors in the success of our business and of our Trust Advisors. General Function Provide customers total solutions to their battery, bulb, and services problems while doing so in a courteous, professional and helpful manner. Essential Responsibilities Customer Service / Sales
- Greet customers, determine needs and answer questions
- Suggest sell add-on items, participate in retail store and commercial sales activities in order to achieve sales and profit goals
- Ask questions to identify potential commercial customers
- Operate computer/cash register to complete sales transactions with accuracy
- Answer phones, ensuring messages are relayed
- Watch for loss prevention issues and advise management of any unusual activities
- Demonstrate a customer-first mentality Technical
- Install batteries, perform tests and tech work
- Able to rebuild cordless drill batteries and other battery packs as needed
- Repair cell phones, tablets, light fixtures and other devices as needed
- Replace screens, batteries and other components on smartphones and tablets
- Cut keys and reprogram key fob remotes Merchandising / Inventory
- Assist in all store operations responsibilities as assigned by Store Manager or Assistant Manager
- Rotate and stock inventory
- Load, unload, and deliver or arrange delivery of product to customers or via third party delivery companies
- Organize daily recovery of displays to achieve full store appearance
- Maintain retail shelf label pricing
- Build displays; setting up & taking down shelves and fixtures
- Prepare store for daily opening and closing including counting and reconciling register drawers
- Maintain physical facility safety and appearance including mowing lawn, removing snow, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors. Maintain restroom cleanliness

- H.S. diploma/equivalent and 6 months prior work experience preferred or equivalent combination of
- Must have technical aptitude and have the ability to work small parts and tools
- Ability to make minor decisions and use some judgment within standardized procedures
- Good listening and verbal communication skills with a customer focus; general knowledge of customer service policies/procedures
- Must possess and use organizational and analytical problem solving skills
- Ability to calculate simple math, percentages, ratios and algebraic expressions and read gauges
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred. Physical Requirements / Work Environment The physical demands required to perform the essential responsibilities of this position are as follows. Reasonable accommodations, if necessary and/or as required by law, will be made available.
- This position requires the employee to regularly stand, walk and use hands to handle or touch; frequently talk, hear and lift up to 50 pounds; and occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach above shoulders, and lift more than 50 pounds.
- The position requires the employee to regularly use electrical cables, simple hand tools, a magnifying glass, spot welders, automotive and electronic testing equipment, as well as regular use of a phone, computer, and printer/copier.
- While performing the responsibilities of this position, the employee will occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions and the risk of electrical shock.
- The level of noise in the working environment is moderate.
- Protective clothing and/or equipment used in this position includes goggles, gloves, and steel-toed shoes.
