AmeriStaff is seeking a seasoned sales representative for an international manufacturing leader in their scope of work and business right here in Henry County, Virginia. The Technical Sales Representative should have a strong solution-selling mindset to drive growth in business. This role focuses on selling engineered solutions to mattress producers and the general furniture market, working closely with customers to understand their technical requirements and translating them into value-added solutions. The ideal candidate will own the entire sales process, from prospecting through commercial negotiation and post-sale support, and will act as the primary interface between the customer and internal technical, operations, and product teams. A robust benefits package is included with this opportunity. Salary plus Bonus Incentives and Commission. Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Identify, develop, and manage new and existing customer accounts within the mattress and furniture markets.
Drive solution-based sales of pocket spring systems, emphasizing performance, customization, cost optimization, and manufacturability.
Develop annual sales plans, forecasts, and account strategies to meet or exceed revenue and margin targets.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify new opportunities.
Technical Solution Selling
Engage with customer engineering, sourcing, and product development teams to understand application requirements.
Recommend appropriate pocket spring designs, configurations, and materials based on customer specifications and end-use performance.
Support product trials, sampling, prototyping, and technical validations.
Serve as the technical voice of the customer within the organization.
Account & Relationship Management
Build long-term partnerships with key decision-makers at multiple levels.
Lead pricing discussions, contract negotiations, and commercial agreements.
Ensure smooth handoff from sales to operations and maintain customer satisfaction post-sale.
Resolve technical or commercial issues in collaboration with internal teams.
Collaboration & Reporting
Work closely with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to deliver optimal customer solutions.
Maintain accurate CRM records, sales pipelines, and forecasts.
Provide regular reporting on sales performance, opportunities, and market insights. Qualifications & Experience Required
Minimum of high school diploma/GED (College degree preferred)
Proven experience with solution selling and managing complex sales processes.
Strong understanding of manufacturing environments and customer technical requirements.
Valid drivers license and be legally authorized to work in the United States
Ability to travel regularly to customer sites and industry events.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally (25-50%)
Preferred
3+ years of experience in technical or B2B sales, ideally within mattress components, furniture components, or engineered materials.
Experience with pocket springs, innersprings, foam, or comfort systems.
Background in engineering, materials science, industrial technology, or related field.
Familiarity with mattress and upholstered furniture manufacturing processes.
Experience selling customizable or engineered-to-order products.
