Instrument Technician Job Duties:
Position facilitates day-to-day operation of a medical device testing laboratory (BP monitors, TENS units, and nebulizers) responding to consumer complaints. There is no direct interaction with customers. Duties include transporting packages from receiving, entering packages into a database, occasional device testing, shipping, and fulfillment reporting. Position may include limited verification work.
Key Job Responsibilities:
May perform sales and requisition transactions Assists with inventory ordering, receiving, stocking, and storing of supplies according to established protocols Ensures surgical packs are assembled according to established processes and procedures Decontaminates, wraps, and operates equipment to sterilize surgical packs, surgical supplies, and other related items for a hospital; and checks for damaged or missing items Performs sterilization activities and monitors sterilization processes Facilitates the instrument repair process as items are returned damaged and makes minor adjustments to instruments or replaces instruments

Content Knowledge/Experience:
Ability to use software to control and generate reports from scientific instrumentation. Attention to
Detail:
Ability to follow test protocols and document results with quantitative accuracy.
Communication Skills:
Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and communicate technical information clearly.
Physical:
Must be able lift 20 pounds; must have manual dexterity for device testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will have an AA/AS degree or better or equivalent work experience.
