Job Description

Position Title:
OT Trainee We welcome you to join our WV Office of Technology team where we value work/life balance. The location of this position will be in one of the following counties: Grant, Mineral, Hardy, Hampshire, Morgan, Berkeley, or Jefferson . Requirements for this position include but are not limited to: A valid driver's license and dependable transportation are required. Travel to various State Agencies to perform work and maintain accurate mileage records. Regular attendance is an essential part of this position. Providing excellent customer service is a priority. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Job Duties:
While working with a mentor and team members, you will: Learn to image computers using a WVOT standard image. Learn to install and configure hardware and software in multiple state agencies which may include Department of Corrections Facilities and/or State Hospitals. Learn to troubleshoot hardware and software issues. Learn basic networking. Learn to connect to computers remotely to install software and troubleshoot issues. Learn to use an ITSM (IT Service Management) tool to accept assignment of incidents and tasks and update the ITSM daily, recording all work performed and resolving incidents or tasks. When completed. Assist the service desk answering calls on a rotating schedule Prepare documentation using provided templates Performs other duties as assigned. • As a condition of employment, an inquiry into job-related information will be completed which may include, but not limited to, criminal records, abuse registry records, driving records, employment history, and education and training. Desired Qualifications:
Training:
Associate degree from an accredited college or university with nine (9) semester hours of computer science/Information technology.
OR Substitution:
High school diploma or the equivalent. AND completion of certificate.
OR Experience:
Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in information, telecommunication, or wireless technology, and/or information related fields.
