Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Sawmill Operator, where you'll be at the forefront of transforming raw timber into high-quality lumber products. Responsibilities Operate sawmill machinery and equipment with precision, including CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, to cut and shape wood according to specifications. Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and other measuring devices to ensure accurate cuts and quality standards are met. Maintain and troubleshoot machinery such as CNC programming systems, forklifts, and other manufacturing equipment to ensure smooth operations. Conduct routine inspections of raw materials and finished products, verifying dimensions and quality using calipers and other measurement tools. Follow safety protocols rigorously, including proper handling of wood, power tools, and warehouse equipment like forklifts. Assist in loading and unloading lumber using forklifts or manual handling techniques within warehouse settings. Document production data, maintenance logs, and quality checks accurately for operational transparency. Skills Proficiency with AutoCAD for layout planning or machine setup is a plus. Experience operating forklifts safely within a warehouse or manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of machining processes, woodworking techniques, and millwork standards. Ability to read technical drawings and CNC programming instructions for precise manufacturing. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments for detailed craftsmanship. Background in construction or carpentry enhances understanding of structural wood applications. Prior warehouse experience with an emphasis on safety procedures is highly desirable.
