Job Description

Job Responsibilities Identifies, coordinates, and instructs NEO, orientation, basic and in-service classes for uniformed and non-uniformed staff both at the SCDC training academy and at the designated training locations throughout the state. Researches, develops, and updates lesson plans, training aids, manuals, tests and evaluation instruments to comply with agency policy, ACA standards, and State/Federal Law. Maintains an accurate and up-to-date filing system for training. Ensures records are maintained to meet
ACA, CLEE
requirements and any enforced consent decrees. Maintain a level of proficiency with computer technology, software, and media equipment. Resume preferred, but not required. Must successfully complete eight (8) weeks of SCDC basic training upon hire. Minimum and Additional Requirements State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and relevant experience. A bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for the required experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and three (3) years of experience in correctional, security, military, or police work to include one (1) year of supervisory experience. A degree in criminal justice or a related degree may substitute for supervisory experience year for year (associate and above = 1 year). Must be certified by the SCDC Training Academy and successfully complete the basic supervisory course within six (6) months of entry into the position.
