Role:
We are seeking a Scheduled Outage Coordinator to support outage coordination activities within the utility operations environment. This role will focus on coordinating equipment outages across the HVD and LVD systems, ensuring safe operational practices, and supporting field and control room activities through established outage management procedures. The ideal candidate will have a technical utility background, strong coordination skills, and familiarity with lockout/tagout and outage request processes within transmission or distribution operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Support scheduled outage coordination activities by following established operational procedures Coordinate planned equipment outages for HVD/LVD systems with internal workgroups and field partners Prepare and manage switching and tagging orders required for equipment isolation and clearance processes Support lockout/tagout (LOTO) clearance activities using red tag isolation boundaries Collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders to ensure outage readiness and operational safety Assist with post-guarded outage processes for distribution substations, including preparation of outage cards and internal documentation Review and scrub outage requests within the transmission outage application to ensure completeness and compliance with defined requirements Work proactively 3-4 weeks ahead on outage entries to validate required information and scheduling readiness Interface with third-party utilities and support customer communications through phone calls and SAP notifications Generate and review reports using Microsoft Office tools and Power BI where applicable
Required Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in a technical field OR equivalent related experience Utility industry experience with focus on safe system operations Experience working within transmission/distribution operations, outage coordination, or control room environments Familiarity with outage intake processes and utility work request procedures Knowledge of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and clearance processes Strong organizational and coordination skills Proficiency with
Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in any field Experience with transmission outage applications Ability to generate and interpret Power BI reports Previous experience coordinating outages in substations or utility operations environments SAP experience preferred
