Job Description
Aircrew Scheduling Support. Scheduling is a challenging, dynamic process. The approved, printed schedule normally requires numerous changes due to aircraft mechanical problems, medical issues, flight evaluation requirements, expiring event currencies, deployments, and student training continuity. Weather conditions and other factors beyond the control of the scheduler also limit flying opportunities. The scheduler needs to be able to adapt quickly to changing circumstances in a medium- to high-stress environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate with the training officer, training NCO, squadron aviation resource management (SARM), Unit Deployment Manager (UDM), and Operations Officer (DO) to arrange a schedule to facilitate operations, qualification, upgrade, test, exercises, and continuation training accomplishment to meet required currency and progression standards, IAW DO priorities. Build long- and short-range shift schedules to ensure full coverage of all aircrew, instructor, evaluator, support personnel, and supervisor positions. Coordinate with senior squadron leadership on a daily and weekly basis. Coordinate with simulator contractors as required for sim events. Track crewmember leave, temporary duty, scheduled medical appointments or other scheduling commitments. Contractor will de-conflict crewmember schedules and coordinate with flight leadership to ensure crew members are available to meet assigned sortie taskings. Track daily flight/ground/academic training requirements and accomplishments to facilitate accurate flight scheduling in support of the operations officer. To the maximum extent possible, schedule aircrew based on experience to mitigate Operational Risk Management (ORM) as detailed in AMCI 90-903, Aviation ORM. Schedule IAW guidance as outlined by Stan/Eval in conjunction with applicable aircraft manuals, appropriate supplements, and the Go-No/Go Process Guide. Updates will be reported to squadron leadership. Facilitate last-minute schedule changes to ensure full coverage by working with the current mission commander/operations supervisor (or equivalent) and flight responsible for the shift that is not fully manned. Publish/post scheduling data for unit long-/short-range ground/academic, flying, and simulator training event schedules on computer database systems. Comply with Ops Group and Wing Current Operations (OSO), and Group Training (OST) locally- developed guidance when building the schedule. Perform daily updates of scheduling data to compensate for changing conditions and training completion rates. Coordinate with OSO, OST, outside agencies/exercise participants and higher headquarters, for example:RED FLAG, GREEN
FLAG, Mobility Guardian, Weapons School support, for reporting and to facilitate exercise and special event schedules.Required Qualifications/Experience:
One year of experience working as an aircrew scheduler. One year of experience working with GDSS, GTIMS or equivalent scheduling program. Must have an active Government Secret Clearance - No exceptions. Supervisory Responsibilities As Required. Security Responsibilities Eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Personnel Security Clearance. Must comply with all company Information Systems security policies and procedures. May be responsible for proper classification and marking of all information and materials. Employee shall not divulge any information, or afford access to other employees not having a need-to-know authorization. Shall not divulge information outside the company without management approval. Will be required to execute company non-disclosure agreement prior to access to any controlled information. Language Skills Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex words and technical documents/diagrams. Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing and work effectively as part of a team. Reasoning Ability and Mathematical Skills Must be able to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable. Must be able to calculate figures and numbers, and percentages and be able to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings. Must be able to perform Domestic and International travel as required. Shop floor environment. Will be working in areas with risk of injury from electrical applications, moving mechanical parts, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems under pressure and electrical motion systems.
