Job Description
Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Looking for a contract opportunity as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) supporting medically fragile students? This full-time, full-school-year role offers a dynamic environment where your expertise truly makes a difference for students ages 4-22 with varying medical needs. Based near Sunnyvale, CA, you'll take on a vital, itinerant position rotating between students and school campuses to provide one-on-one care and advocate for student health.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Current LPN or LVN license with valid credentials to practice in the state At least one year of experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred Skilled in seizure management, reviewing health plans, and providing direct care Confident in tasks like gastronomy, bladder cauterization, diabetes/insulin care (including CGM and carb counting), and medication administration (e.g., EpiPens, Benadryl) Experience supporting students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental delays, and knowledge of hypo- and hyperglycemia Strong communication skills for collaborating with staff, parents, and students Ability to train school staff in health procedures and emergency care practices Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus, though not requiredResponsibilities:
Provide one-on-one care to medically fragile students, adapting to their unique needs Rotate between assigned students and campuses as required Serve as on-call support for urgent health needs during the school day Review, implement, and update seizure and student health plans Deliver training to school staff on health procedures and emergency protocols Build rapport with parents and familiarize yourself with each student's health requirements If you are passionate about delivering compassionate, skilled care and thrive in a flexible school setting, we encourage you to apply today and make an impact on students' lives throughout the school year!
