Job Description

Degree in Physical Therapy, active Physical Therapist license and 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Bring your expertise as a school-based Physical Therapist to a rewarding part-time opportunity just outside Madera, CA. This flexible role is ideal for professionals passionate about making a difference with young learners, offering a supportive environment and a strong chance of contract renewal. Work during the school/fiscal year for 15 hours per week, primarily with PreK students, and help foster developmental milestones that will shape their educational experience.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Valid Physical Therapist (PT) licensure for practice in California Prior experience in school settings, particularly with students who have special needs, is highly preferred Background working with PreK-aged children and familiarity with Early Intervention strategies Experience in Special Education (SPED) environments is a distinct advantage Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus, supporting effective communication with students and their families Outstanding collaboration skills to work alongside educators, administrators, and multidisciplinary school teams
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct therapy services to a caseload comprised mostly of PreK students, focusing on motor skills, mobility, and functional independence Conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and maintain accurate records in compliance with district and state guidelines Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate on the development of educational plans to support student growth and access to curriculum Consult with teachers and provide recommendations or adaptive strategies for the classroom Communicate progress to parents, caregivers, and educational staff, fostering teamwork for student success This contract opportunity offers part-time, school-year hours—perfect for those seeking work-life harmony while making a difference in early childhood education.
