Job Description
- Behavior Technician (School-Based)
- We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technicians to support students in a school setting. In this role, you will collaborate with educators and behavioral specialists to provide individualized support and help students achieve their academic and behavioral goals.
- Position Overview
- The Behavior Technician provides direct support to students with special needs in both one-on-one and classroom settings. This role requires patience, strong communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage and redirect challenging behaviors.
- Key Responsibilities
- + •Provide one-on-one or small group support to K-12 students•+ •Implement behavior intervention plans under the direction of school staff•+ •Support students with behavioral challenges, including aggression and elopement•+ •Use de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe learning environment•+ •Assist with daily living activities such as toileting and hygiene when needed•+ •Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff•+ •Follow direction and feedback to ensure effective student support•Required Qualifications•+ •High School diploma or equivalent required•+ •Minimum of two (2) years of experience in special education (SPED) settings•+ •At least 18 years of age•+ •Current CPR certification, if applicable•+ •Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements•+ •TB screening as required•Work Environment & Physical Requirements•+ •Ability to stay active, including walking, standing, and responding quickly to student movement•+ •Comfortable working in loud or high-energy environments•+ •Ability to assist with physical and daily care needs as required•Assignment Details•+ •
