School Cook

Responsibilities:

Prep duties such as washing and chopping vegetables or cutting meat

• Label and stock ingredients on shelves
• Measure ingredients and seasonings
• Prep simple dishes such as soups and salads
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen
• Follow nutrition and sanitation guidelines

Working Well Under Pressure Attention to Detail Ability to Work Fast Communication Cleanliness The ideal candidate: Candidate must be knowledgeable of state nutritional requirements of children (CACFP). Plans, posts, and follows approved menus that are nutritionally sound, making substitutions as needed, keeps accurate inventory records and places food order all within center food budget. Chops, cuts and prepares and serves food in amounts that are based on the number of children and staff eating that day. Serves food at appropriate temperatures and in appropriate serving containers, Maintains effective, safe storage of food, cooking and serving supplies, equipment and utensils, and cleaning supplies in accordance with the state and/or local regulation Keep equipment in kitchen (stove and hood, fridge, appliances) clean and in good working order. Cleans the kitchen counters and shelves (spills on the floors as needed) Lifts and carries bulk food appropriately when delivered and stores food and all items at level in accordance with safety guidelines. Keeps accurate meal and snack count records as required per district/region guidelines.' '
