The School Improvement Secretary is a vital and supportive member of the PCSD team, working collaboratively with educators, support staff, and administration to achieve the shared goal of ensuring all students receive the education they need to succeed both today and tomorrow. This role is performed within a school environment, overseen by the Ex. Director of School Improvement and Federal Programs, where teamwork and dedication to student success are paramount. All staff are expected to fully adhere to the ethical standards set forth by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, continuously demonstrating a strong understanding of the tasks and responsibilities their roles require. Provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the School Improvement Department and the Dianne Wright Innovation Center by serving as both department and building secretary. Coordinates departmental and facility functions including scheduling, special events, purchasing, and bookkeeping, while ensuring efficient daily operations. Prepares professional documents and correspondence and supports effective communication through strong interpersonal, telephone, and technology skills.Working Conditions:

High school diploma or GED required Three years of clerical experience, preferably involving bookkeeping or maintenance of records Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and general office technology Strong organizational and time management skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.Essential Functions:
Assists with the coordination and daily operations of the Dianne Wright Innovation Center, including the Innovation Lab and textbook room (e.g., scheduling, communication, purchasing/receiving, and data collection). Supports the planning and implementation of School Improvement Department events and activities. Maintains and manages the Professional Learning calendar and scheduling for the Dianne Wright Innovation Center. Serves as a point of contact for staff, visitors, and stakeholders utilizing the facility. Receives and distributes mail, packages, and supplies for the building. Submits and monitors work orders and assists with facility-related needs, including key management. Assists with maintaining departmental records, databases, and internal documents (e.g., EAC Teams and related materials). Performs general clerical duties including document preparation, data entry, filing, and record maintenance. Performs general bookkeeping for the School Improvement Department. Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee. Applicants will be selected for interview. Please do not contact local schools.
