Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a vital role supporting student wellness and success as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a dynamic school environment near Oakland, CA. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and adolescents, providing compassionate care and supporting a safe, healthy educational atmosphere. Qualifications & Experience Current, valid LPN/LVN license in the state of California Prior experience in a school, pediatric, or community health setting preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, staff, and families Ability to respond calmly and efficiently in urgent or emergent situations Knowledge of health office operations and best practices in student care Proficient with documentation, maintaining confidentiality, and using basic computer systems Key Responsibilities Administer medications, treatments, and first aid as prescribed and needed Monitor students' health status and manage chronic conditions in collaboration with parents and medical providers Maintain accurate health records and ensure confidentiality Support IEP and 504 plan implementation where applicable Educate students on healthy behaviors, hygiene, and disease prevention Communicate clearly with staff and families regarding students' healthcare needs Participate in health screenings and immunization compliance Uphold district and state guidelines regarding student health and safety As part of this opportunity, you will be immersed within a supportive school community, with consistent weekday hours and the satisfaction of knowing your skills are helping students thrive both academically and personally.
