Job Description

School Nurse McLean Hospital United States, Massachusetts, Belmont 115 Mill Street (Show on map) May 11, 2026 Summary Responsible for promoting the health and well-being of students, managing medical emergencies, and implementing health promotion programs while collaborating with educators, parents, and healthcare providers to create a healthy and safe school environment that supports optimal learning and growth.   • Provide routine and emergency nursing care to students and staff members in affiliated schools.
  • Assess and address students' health needs, including administering medications, managing chronic health conditions, and performing health screenings.
  • Develop individualized health plans and accommodation plans for students with specific health needs, ensuring their safety and well-being during school hours.
  • Conduct health assessments, screenings, and vision/hearing tests to identify health issues and refer for further evaluation when necessary.
  • Educate students and staff on health topics, including nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention, through health promotion programs and training sessions.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and injuries that occur during school hours, providing immediate care and coordinating with emergency services if needed.
