Part-Time (Wednesday 8 am to 3:45 pm, Friday 8 am to 1:15 pm)
Description:

Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy is seeking a compassionate and reliable Part-Time Registered Nurse to support the health and well being of students in a PK - 12th grade school setting, Wednesday 8 am to 3:45 pm and Friday 8 am to 1:15 pm. The School Nurse will provide daily health services, promote wellness, and ensure a safe learning environment for all students. In particular we are seeking someone with experience in diabetic management.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide first aid, illness assessment, and emergency care to students and staff Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and school policies Manage student health records and maintain accurate documentation; contact parents as needed if medical records are incomplete or outdated Develop and implement individual healthcare plans and emergency action plans Communicate with parents/guardians, school staff, and healthcare providers regarding student health needs Support students with chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies) Participate in health screenings and promote health education as needed Ensure compliance with state health regulations and school district policies
Qualifications:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Connecticut CPR/AED and First Aid certification 2 - 4 years experience in pediatrics, school nursing, or community health preferred Must have experience in diabetes management Technology proficient; experience with SNAP preferred Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions Commitment to maintaining student confidentiality
