Job Description
Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Make a difference supporting students' growth and development as an Occupational Therapist in a vibrant educational community. This is a contract position with a dynamic school district near Lenexa, KS, covering five elementary campuses from August 2026 through May 2027. The role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of students while collaborating closely with educators and families to promote student success. The district is currently finalizing caseload assignments, ensuring a manageable and rewarding workload for the selected OT.
Desired Qualifications:
Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) in the state of Kansas, or eligibility for licensure Previous experience in a school-based setting is highly preferred Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and documentation Ability to provide direct and consultative OT services to elementary-aged students Excellent communication skills for collaborating with teachers, support staff, and families Reliable, flexible, and committed to delivering evidence-based interventionsCore Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and group Occupational Therapy services according to students' IEPs Conduct assessments and create meaningful therapy goals to enhance student access to curriculum and school participation Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services and progress Collaborate actively with general and special education staff, as well as families Support and educate school personnel on strategies and adaptations to foster student independence This opportunity is ideal for a professional who thrives on making a genuine impact in students' lives and enjoys working in a collaborative, supportive environment.
